The Tanzanian Surgical Skills Project (TSSP) aims to support the collaborative interests of any Tanzanian or UK medical student who wishes to explore a career in surgery.
With the generous support of its collaborators and the enviable drive of its volunteers, the TSSP runs a variety of regular virtual workshops with the annual highlight of an 8-week series of in-person lectures, surgical skills workshops and research projects over the Easter and Summer months to develop the interests and essential practical skills of the future leaders of Tanzanian surgery.
The TSSP works closely with Newcastle University Surgical Society to ensure that the high quality of teaching continues to be met.
The TSSP is a life-long commitment to excellence in surgical training and we welcome you to support our work in whatever way you can.
If you are both part of a surgical society within the UK and soon to be going on your medical elective, please do get in touch should you like to be involved in the TSSP and would like support to teach essential surgical skills to junior medical students in your LMIC elective destination.
